Spring Hill Cross Country made their 2025 debut at Tyler Legacy’s meet in Lindsay Park Saturday morning. The Lady Panthers finished 8th out of 16 in their division. 5 of the top 6 scorers were freshmen and sophomores including top finisher Donna Yacoub leading the way for Spring Hill in her first high school race. The youth movement carried over to the boys side as well with sophomore Ben Sherman being the first Panther across the line.

Spring Hill Cross Country survived some soggy weather and multiple delays at Whitehouse Saturday. The Lady Panthers finished 2nd led by Donna Yaacoub medaling with a 9th place finish. All seven varsity girls finished in the top 20 and 2-5 came across the finish line in a 10 second burst. Freshman Roc Williams made his debut with a 13th place finish to help the boys to a 3rd place team finish. The junior high boys and girls teams both finished 7th overall.

Spring Hill Cross Country made the long trek to Sulphur Springs early Friday morning for the 3rd meet of the year but the results made the trip well worth it. The Lady Panthers finished 4th out of 22 teams including five PRs on the day. The boys team added another five PRs on their side as well including Sophomore Ben Sherman breaking 19:00 for the first time in his career.

Sophomore Riley Atchley led the way on the girls side. On the boys side freshman Roc Williams set another PR as the first Panther across the line in 19:20.

Spring Hill Cross Country got their best result of the year just missing out on the win at Hallsville. The girls teams scored a 103, just edged out by Gilmer’s 102 to finish 2nd out of 15 teams. Riley Atchley led the way finishing 15th and medaling. Roc Williams PR’d on the boys side and just missed a medal finishing 16th out of 151 runners.

Spring Hill Cross Country had a solid day across the board at Union Grove Saturday. HS Girls finished 3rd (again 1 point by district rival Gilmer). HS boys got their best result finishing 5th as a team. Both squads were led by freshmen Donna Yaacoub and Roc Williams. JH boys finished 2nd led by a 3-4 finish from Landon Caperton & Mavericx Williams. JH girls were sixth led by Hannah Hamilton’s 5th place medal.

Spring Hill Cross Country finished up the regular season at a challenging Lindale course Thursday morning. The girls team finished 8th out of 24 teams. Donna Yaacoub and Riley Atchley both set new PR’s running sub-14. The boys team finished ahead of two district foes led by Ben Sherman and Roc Williams both going sub-20. Next up for the Panthers is the district meet at Lear Park next Thursday.

The Lady Panthers are the 2025 District 16-4A Champions. In an insanely tight day Spring Hill and Gilmer tied through the tradition top 5 scorers. The tie-break is your sixth place runner where the Panthers topped the Buckeyes by 6 spots. Donna Yaacoub, Riley Atchley, and Addi McClimon all individually finished in the top 10 to medal. The JV Lady Panthers made it a clean sweep for the girls with Baylei Steingrubey winning the district and the team taking home first as well. The boys team all 5 runners set a new PR in their final race of the year, led by freshman Roc Williams finishing 14. The Lady Panthers will move on to the Regional Meet in Arlington on October 21st.
